Dragonfly Lifeline

Today's Chicago Tribune has a story about a project led by Dan Soluk, a professor of aquatic ecology at University of South Dakota. He's working with the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to preserve habitat for the Hine's emerald dragonfly below the I-355 tollway over the Des Plaines River. The ISTHA has spent about $6 million on the dragonfly protection effort, which includes about $1.5 million to partner with Soluk.

Voyager on-line catalog to revert back to older version.

In June the University of Illinois and the other 75 I-Share Libraries upgraded WebVoyage, the on-line catalog, to version 7. Unfortunately the problems with slowness and difficulty with requesting items have not been able to be resolved. With the Fall semester upon us they have decided to revert back to version 6 which will be restored on Friday August 14th. In the meantime they will continue to tweak version 7 with hopes of reinstalling it in the future.
