Google Book Search Tips

The University of Michigan Library has compiled a handout discussing strategies for using the Google Book Search. Located at http://www.lib.umich.edu/mdp/GoogleBooks.pdf, this handout will help users search for and find books of their interest.

Google Book Search is a collection of digitized books by Google and its partner libraries and publishers. You can search the full text of the books and learn where to buy or borrow them. Through Google you can view basic bibliographic information such as title, author, and length and sometimes more information including key terms, references from scholarly publications, and chapter titles. Depending upon copyright dates or publisher/rightsholder permission you may also be able to read the entire book online.
