The UIUC Catalog will be disabled for approximately 2 weeks in June for a system upgrade. Searching will be possible, but some UIUC Catalog and I-Share Catalog related services will be unavailable during the upgrade. Other online library services such as electronic databases, indexes, journals, or Interlibrary Loan will be unaffected.
Important dates and affective services are outlined below:
June 6:
Users will be unable to place requests for materials from other I-Share libraries via the I-Share catalog. Users may request items from other UIUC Libraries via the UIUC Catalog until June 14.
June 14:
The UIUC Catalog will become static, which will have the following impacts on library services:
- Users will be unable to charge/request/renew materials in the online catalog.
Users will still be able to charge/renew books in person at a Library service desk. - No new records will be added to UIUC Catalog or to the I-Share Catalog after 5:00 PM, June 14.
- Circulation status of materials will not reflect transactions that take place after 5:00 PM, June 14.
- Materials returned by users to the Library during this period will not be discharged from users' accounts until the system is reactivated; however, materials also will not come due during the downtime.
- Library materials cannot be recalled during this period.
- No overdue or pickup notices will be sent.
- "My Account" in the catalog will lead to a page warning that the account information is not current.
Services will be restored when the upgrade is complete. The Library estimates that the downtime will last a maximum of 2 weeks. The Library regrets any inconvenience.
