I-Share Catalog problems

There are two problems with the I-Share catalog that will affect INHS Library users.

1) When requesting delivery of items to locations other than UIUC libraries, you may receive an error message that there are no items available to request. This occurs when the I-Share server is very busy, and it happens because the screen was unable to refresh to reflect the selected pickup location. When this happens, try again, preferably at a time when the server is less busy. The bug has been reported, and we are hoping for a fix soon.

2) I-Share system administrators have been unable to update the I-Share catalog since Aug. 15 (normally updates are done daily). As a result, the newest items added to I-Share libraries' collections are not indicated in the I-Share catalog, and also that the statuses (available, checked out, overdue, etc.) of items in the I-Share catalog are as of Aug. 15. In the majority of cases, this will not affect requesting or other activities in I-Share. Note that the UIUC catalog and other I-Share library local catalogs are up-to-date with respect to items added and item statuses. Our consortium office is working diligently to correct the problem.

Thanks for your patience, and please don't hesitate to contact us if you have problems or questions.
